God is good...ALL the time!!

This is something I wrote a couple of months ago, but I still love it everytime I read and it still helps ground me and give me encouragement so I decided to share it with you guys. So here it goes...

As some of you may know, my New Year's Resolution this year is to read the entire bible (yes, the whole thing). I decided this after some recent events had me praying and seeking to be closer to God more than usual (not that I didn't pray and seek God before). And I have also been searching for scriptures in the bible that stand out to me and strengthen me and re-ensure my faith in God, and putting them in my statuses on here daily in hopes that someone may come across it and it will help them as well. With all that being said, while I was talking to my mom earlier today she told me about a scripture that she wanted me to read.

The scripture is Isaiah 43:18-19. And I would like for everyone to go find and read it personally word for word, but it is basically saying not to dwell or worry about things that have happened in the past. It says that God is working on something new for you, even right now.

This really hit home for me, because for the past few weeks I have really been dwelling on things that have already happened and cannot be changed or taken back. I was constantly thinking "What if I would have...?", and "I wish I would have...", and "I knew I should have...", thinking that if I just would have done things differently, they wouldn't have to be the way they are. But God works in mysterious ways. He knows what he's doing. Sometimes good things fall apart so GREAT things can fall together. Or good things break so that they can be put back together and made better and stronger.

So I'm not going to worry about the past. I have already been SO blessed throughout my lifetime, and I am VERY grateful for that but I'm going to look forward to the future and what God has in store for me. I know when it comes (when the time is right) it's going to be something good! Something that I will not be able to thank and praise God enough for even if I had a thousand tongues! So be patient and wait humbly for your Lord. Good things come to those who wait. And continue to pray and praise God.

Here are some of my favorite scriptures that I think go along with this and will also be of some affirmation to it:
Psalm 37:4-5 says that delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you all the desires of your heart. It says to commit yourself to Him and and trust in Him and He will have your desires will come to pass (come true).
Proverbs 3:5-6 says to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." Meaning to put all your hope in God, and don't try to find a reason for what He does. If you just listen to Him and acknowledge Him when He is speaking to you, He will lead you in the right path.
Matthew 6:7 says "But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." So when you pray, do not continually say the same things over and over again. this doesn't mean that you cannot pray about the same thing, just do not say it in the same way everytime.
And the last one I forgot exactly what scripture it is but it says that as long as you believe in what you pray for it will be given to you.

So I think I've said enough so I'm done preaching now. Lol. But I really felt like I should share this with people. So I really do hope this helps someone out there! God bless you all and I hope you all have a WONDERFUL New Year!!
